As a Medical Transcriptionist, you are responsible for receiving verbal information and typing that information into a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect.  This information must be transcribed accurately, using the format specified by the provider (SOAP notes, discharge summaries, and other report forms)

WHO IS A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN?

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be helping the Licensed Pharmacist with all the necessary day-to-day services that the Pharmacy provides. Houlton Hodgdon Adult & Community Education is ready to assist you in our Crash Course for the TEAS Test. 

Evaluate your skills - Focus on your areas of weakness - Find more about the parts of the test, test taking strategies - Prepare you to succeed - Build skills in math, science, reading, and English

At your pace, flexible schedule, with a hybrid approach to learning (online options, face to face, or virtual with Zoom).

This course is for those entering the nursing or allied health programs that require the TEAS test for admissions.

This course will provide you with an overview of the TEAS test, and breakdown of how the test is designed.  It will provide you with the skills and confidence to take the TEAS test.

We will cover study techniques, learning styles and relaxation and memorization techniques.  Staff will provide lessons on TEAS test specific areas, such as Math, Science, Reading, and English Language Arts. 

A group and individual approach will be sued to ensure all learners are acquiring the skills they need to prepare for the TEAS test.

This is a CNA Class with Classes & Labs Delivered in a Hybrid Format.

Clinicals will be held at approved facilities.  Exact dates and times will be on your class schedule.

Become a CNA through our training program at Region Two School of Applied Technology. This course will run from September 1 to December 21, 2022.  Remote/Online Learning is being offered through our partnership with other Adult Ed Programs.

Class Times:  8am~2pm  (Every other day as per class schedule)

Lab Times:    3:30-6pm (Opposite Days) 

A schedule will be given to you on August 30, 2022 with exact days and times.

Successful graduates will be certified for emplyment in state-approved health care institutions through the State of Maine and will be placed on the Maine Board of Nursing Registry.

MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIST LINK TO AMP.

WHAT IS A MEDICAL OFFICE SPECIALIST - NATIONALLY CERTIFIED AS A MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (CMAA) MEDICAL BILLING CERTIFICATE THROUGH AMP

A Medical Administrative Assistant is a versatile professional. The duties that are performed vary not only from office to office but even within the same office. Medical Administrative Assistants perform routine duties within the offices of many types of health professionals, including physicians, chiropractors, cardiologists and others. In addition, individuals can accomplish various jobs in the hospital environment, and some are employed by freestanding emergency centers and surgery centers.

This certification program will teach you the practical real-world skills essential for success in the healthcare field.  This completely inclusive course consists of Medical Terminology, Medical Front Office Skills, EHR/EMR for the Medical Office and the Administrative Medical Assistant.  You will learn MedTrak electronic records system used in many medical offices.  In addition, upon completion of all courses, you will sit for your CMAA (Certified Medical Administrative Assistant) Examination and CBCS (Certified Billing Specialist) through the National Health career Association and you will receive a certificate of medical billing through the Academy of Medical Professionsed.

MEDICAL CODING PROGRAM LINK TO AMP WEBSITE.

WHAT IS A MEDICAL CODER?

As a Medical Biller/Coder you are responsible for reviewing the documentation the physicians have provided and assigning the correct diagnosis and procedure codes, entering the necessary information into the patient’s account and submitting the claims to the Insurance Companies.  You are then responsible for tracking and receiving payment from the Insurance Companies and billing the patient when necessary.  You will also be responsible for reviewing any denials and researching to make sure that the claim was submitted correctly the first time.  If any necessary changes can be made, you are responsible for making the changes and following up with the Insurance Companies.
